Eligible new Cat machines are protected by a Caterpillar Limited Warranty. For longer-lasting protection, you can purchase a Cat Equipment Protection Plan, commonly known as EPP.

What does the first-year warranty cover?
For eligible new Cat equipment with a 12-month standard warranty, Caterpillar’s Limited Warranty helps protect you against covered failures caused by defects in Caterpillar materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period.
If your machine experiences a mechanical fault, component malfunction or performance issue that may be connected to a defect in materials or workmanship, contact Hastings Deering as soon as possible. Our team can check your machine’s warranty status, assess the issue and explain the next steps.
Warranty periods and conditions can vary according to the product, application and location. Hastings Deering’s current information notes that Cat machines may have 6 to 12 months of standard warranty, so your delivery documentation and applicable warranty statement will determine the exact coverage for your machine.
Standard Warranty Coverage Limitations
Standard warranty generally does not cover every repair or operating cost. Coverage may be affected where a failure results from matters such as:
Normal wear and tear
Accident, misuse or abusive operation
Incorrect maintenance or servicing
The use of improper fuel, fluids or other consumables
Unapproved modifications
Failures of components that are not covered
Routine maintenance items and consumables

Extend your protection with a Cat Equipment Protection Plan
The working life of a Cat machine can extend well beyond its original warranty period. A Cat Equipment Protection Plan provides repair-cost protection after the applicable standard warranty ends, helping you manage the financial impact of eligible unexpected failures.
EPP is designed specifically for new Cat equipment. Depending on the plan selected, coverage can include eligible parts, labour, unplanned repair costs and failures associated with covered defects in materials or manufacturing. Repairs use Cat Genuine Parts and are completed by Cat-trained technicians, subject to the applicable plan terms.

Includes covered Powertrain components, plus specified hydraulic systems such as:
Hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders and valves
Hydraulic accumulators, lines and hoses
Implement and steering controls
Selected electronic controls
Includes covered Powertrain and Hydraulic components, plus eligible factory-installed or dealer-installed Cat technology systems. Depending on the plan, this may include specified Cat Grade, Payload, Link, Compact and Terrain components.
The broadest option, incorporating covered components from the preceding plan levels as well as specified structures, cab, electronics, electrical systems and other major machine components.
