The Cat® Global Operator Challenge returns for 2025/26, and Hastings Deering is set to host the QLD/NT regional event this July in Townsville.

The Global Operator Challenge (GOC) is an elite international competition where the world’s best machine operators battle for the prestigious title of World Champion. Hosted by Caterpillar®, this challenge pushes competitors to their limits, testing agility, speed, and precision across a range of Cat® machinery, from compact equipment to heavy-duty machines with cutting-edge technology.

Cat excavator Global Operator Challenge 2025 Hastings Deering

The competition unfolds in three key stages, eliminating contenders until only one champion remains.

Dealer Events: Hosted by each dealer for their region, these local qualifiers identify the top-performing operators within Australia’s Dealer Regions. This event decides who will represent Hastings Deering at the Regional Semi-final in Japan.

Regional Semi-Finals: In October 2025, Japan hosts the Asia Pacific Semi-Final, where the winner from Hastings Deering’s local event will compete against the best from the ANZP region. The top three from this stage move on.

Global Final: The ultimate test awaits in Las Vegas, March 2026, where the world’s top operators go head-to-head, and one will emerge as the GOC Global Champion.

This year’s winner of the Global Operator Challenge in Vegas is set to walk away with a prize of $10,000 USD cash or an equal value trip for two to a location around the world where Caterpillar has a presence.
