Michael joined Hastings Deering in 2024 and is responsible for the financial and commercial operations across the company, as well as the Sime Industrial Machinery Australasia Portfolio which includes Hastings Deering Papua New Guinea & Solomon Islands, Caltrac New Caledonia, Terra Cat New Zealand, and Salmon Earthmoving.
With more than 30 years’ experience across multiple industries, Michael also leads Hastings Deering’s Procurement, Business Insights and Reporting teams, as well as its Strategic Facilities, Legal, Risk and Governance functions.
Prior to joining Hastings Deering, Michael was a Partner at Ernst & Young, where he held senior leadership roles within the Strategy and Transactions Group and led the firm’s Oceania Valuations, Modelling and Economics team.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology, is a member of the Chartered Accountants in Australia (CAA) and has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.
