HIGH-VISIBILITY MAST DESIGN
Computer analysis has helped to create an optimal design and compartment layout that provides excellent visibility without compromising rigidity. Forward visibility is greatly improved by widening the space between the masts and carefully adjusting cylinder and chain positioning. An increased distance between finger bars boosts both operability and safety.

COMFORTABLE SEAT
The seat is equipped with a seat belt and hip restrainer to minimise any injury to the operator in the unlikely event of a rollover. The new seat is also equipped with a weight adjustment mechanism and a front-back slide. These adjustments are designed to minimise operator fatigue.

LOW CENTRE OF GRAVITY
The rigid, lightweight mast allows for greater forward and peripheral visibility. It is offset by a new counterweight, which achieves greater stability, even with optional equipment attached. This body design is ideal for heavy duty operations.

HIGH-EFFICIENCY COOLING SYSTEM
To reduce the risk of overheating, Caterpillar lift truck engineers have increased the area of the radiator core by 10 per cent and broadened the cooling outlet in the counterweight. These improvements, coupled with optimal positioning of the cooling fan and muffler, provide excellent heat balance and high efficiency in cooling. The engine oil cooler is a standard feature on petrol lift trucks.

SUPERIOR PEDAL DESIGN
The accelerator, brake and inching pedals on the Powershift transmission models have been designed to be on the same level, enabling operators to work with their heels resting on the floor, reducing leg fatigue.

On the Manual transmission models, the increased power assistance in the clutch pedal reduces the force required by 50 per cent. This eases gearshift effort and reduces operator fatigue.

ELECTRIC DIRECTIONAL CHANGE LEVER
on Powershift transmission models
Operators can control forward and reverse movement easily with the electric directional change lever. Two speed automatic transmission is a standard feature on 5 tonne forklift trucks (and optionally on 4 and 4.5 tonne models.)

INFINITE ADJUSTABLE STEERING WHEEL
The gas assisted steering wheel column now comes with a memory system, which provides an infinite positioning of the wheel within its tilt range, to accommodate to most operator preferences.
